The Dragon's Cache Art Gallery Is a gallery that features the works of our local artists. The gallery is open Monday thru Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.- Friday thru Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Dragon's Cache is located at 1109 7th Street.

News and Announcements
- Julie Dillon is the new Publicity Chair for GAA: Julie was appointed at the last GAA board meeting.
- Greeley Arts Picnic is July 25-26, Call for Booth Artists is out, applications are due April 20. Applications are available at the Culture, Parks & Rec office downtown or at artspicnic.com. Prospectus for the Arts Picnic Fine Art Show will be available in June.
- May 1-3, NGAE show is at UCCC across from Lincoln park downtown.
- May 1, Pastel Workshop by Gary Huber at Showcase 10 am - 3 pm. Register with Colette if there are still openings.
- Art Critique group - The new art critique group is happening from 1:30-2:45 at Showcase on first Mondays of the month before the regular GAA meeting. Everyone is invited to participate.
- May 4, GAA meeting, program will be a watercolor demonstration by Janet Nunn

June-a field trip perhaps to draw/paint wild animals at the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg.

Discussed having life drawing available if the membership is interested.
September- Fall get together from 4-7 on September 8th at Twin Rivers tentatively.

January - Jay Moore a DVD of his demonstration was played. He is an oil painter.

August 17 and 23, GAA members enjoyed plein aire painting at Centennial Village.
September 21 - GAA members enjoyed a potluck picnic at Glenmere Park.
Downtown Galleries & Exhibits
There's always plenty of great art to peruse downtown!
Bean Plant Studio (701 7th Street) Special The Bean Plant Studio will be hosting photographs and fibers by Susan Smallwood Herold "Familial Love and Happy Accidents." Also featuring Elizabeth McGee's "One-of-a-Kind" Handmade Greeting Cards.
Cafe Panache (821 10th Street) Café Panache is featuring new artists for the month of February
Chalice Arts (929 15th Street) "Unveiled" This season, V-Day Greeley is excited to be hosting a charity art show! For February, Chalice Arts will be showcasing donated artwork that fits the theme of sexual liberation/ feminine empowerment. All of the money raised from the art show will help V-Day Greeley cover the cost/ expenditures of producing "The Vagina Monologues," which support Sexual Assault Victim Advocates. Art may contain adult content. Refreshments provided by Cocoa Camellia and Chalice Arts. The silent auction exhibit continues through Feb 26th during several V-Day events.The Clay Center (1024 6th Avenue) Gallery offers pottery demonstrations & classes

Doug's Hang Up (817 9th Street) Doug's Hang Up will be featuring a new photography exhibit in February with two talented photographers, Brice Harbert and Ron Sweetin.
The Dragon's Cache (1109 7th Street) February at The Dragon's Cache presents "Hearts and Roses for Your Valentine," featuring flame-worked hearts and roses by Jeffrey Becker, beads and watercolors by Francis Denning, and stained glass by Nellie Denning.

The Greeley History Museum (714 8Th Street) Ongoing exhibits - "Colorado Takes Off" .Madison and Main Gallery(927 16th Street) Madison and Main Gallery will continue hosting the "2nd Annual Collegiate Show" featuring 10 student artists from Aims and UNC. The artists are: Matthew Anderson, Angela Colvin, Tyler Danielson, Kaitlyn Jackson, David Norwood, Rachel Peevler, Roberto Cristoval Roma, Shantell Sallee, Kellie Sapp, and Steffanie Sperry. All items in the gallery are for sale.
Margie's Java Joint (931 16th Street) "52 Weeks of Free Art" - Artist Crystal Despain
Showcase Arts Center (1335 8th Avenue) continuing with The 7th Annual "Art from the Heart" show. There are over 40 artists entered in the show, and the show will be juried by Lani Vlanderen.
Tointon Gallery (651 10th Avenue) The show "Colorado Impressions" continues showing featuring the oil paintings of Colorado Impressionist Carl Bork
Zoe's Cafe (715 10th St) Local Artist Betony Coons will have art displayed at Zoe's through the month of February.

January, 2012 - Colette Pitcher gave a demonstration on how to paint a bird in the snow with watercolors. (In 45 minutes!)
February - AFTH show
March - Rich and Marcy Trahan presented how to photo your work for digital presentation. (Video can be viewed on the Home Page.
April - Dr. Rochelle Brotsky gave an excellent program on "The Artists Eye"
May - Alan Adler gave a demonstration on how to paint an under-painting for an oil still-life, to establish values using intense colors.
June - July
August - Jean McKenzie plein air oil painter.
September - Alan Adler completed the still-life oil painting started at the May demonstration
October - Marcy Trahan coordinated a critique for an evening meeting.
November - Judith Angell Meyer gave a watercolor demo on painting a horses eye.
January, 2011 - Janet Nunngave an interesting demonstration on Dr. Martin's liquid watercolors.
February - James Disney of Loveland, one of Colorado's finest landscape painters, will be giving a presentation at the Showcase Art Center.
March - Annie Surbeck of Loveland, presented a demonstration using watercolor paint on some non-traditional surfaces. At this presentation she used clay board and Yupo.
May - Mary Landis of Loveland, paints in oils. She also teaches watercolor and pastel.
August - Vicky Russell
September - Tim Preston gave us a tour at the Clay Center
October - Colette Pitcher introduced us to ATC's. (Artist Trading Cards) Great fun.
November - Betony Coons presented "The Artists Eye"

Dave Santillanes May 2010 Dave presented a slide show demonstrating his approach from plein air sketches to the finished studio painting. He is an oil painter who has won the top 100 Art for the Parks competition. www.dasanti.com
